2 months have come and gone....

After bath time!

We are back home in Puerto Rico and could not be happier.  We have settled back in to our own routine: Sergio goes to work, Zeke started pre-k, baby and I stay at home, and I started school again!  Our new little man is thriving!  He is such a good and healthy baby!  Breastfeeding is still going wonderfully (my little man is a very healthy eater!).  He is smiling and on the verge of laughing any day now!  He coos and yells, it is so cute!  He is so curious about the world around him!  Zeke is such a good big brother.  He wants to help me in any way with the baby and he is always giving his brother a hug and kiss.  I turned 27 a couple of days ago and  I feel so lucky and blessed to have a beautiful family!!!  I miss my family in Colorado and enjoyed our time while we were there, but there really is no place like home.....
Kisses!!

37 week surprise!

At my 36 week OB appointment, my doctor checked me for dilation.  I was 3cm dilated, 50% effaced.  She said that this was pretty normal for a second time Mom; however, she did not think I would make it to my August 2nd due date.  I went home and called my hubby and he changed his flight from July 29th to July 15th.  On the morning of July 13th I woke up at 5:30am to use the restroom and when I laid back down in bed I felt a sudden gush "down there".  I remembered that feeling from my first pregnancy.  My water broke!!  I ran to the bathroom all the while yelling to my Mom to wake up, my water just broke!!  While in the bathroom I called my husband who was actually on the island of St. Croix for work and told him the good, yet bad news.  The baby was coming, but he would not make the birth.  My mom and I got ready and took Zeke to my Mother-in-laws and headed to the hospital.  When I got there they checked me and saw that I was 4cm dilated.  I was having mild contractions, nothing too bad.  At around 8:30 the nurse had me walk around to try and get my contractions to pick up.  Walking did not help so the nurse suggested a little pitocin and I asked for the epidural.  The anesthesiologist came and gave me the epidural which was wonderful!!  At 10:30 my future Sister-in-law Andrea came to the hospital to help keep me and my mom company.  We watched a little T.V. and talked about Andrea's upcoming wedding to my brother.  The nurse came in around 11:30 and checked me again and I was only at 7cm.  She said she was going to take her lunch and she would check me as soon as she got back.  Around 1:00pm she came back and I was at 10cm!!  Time to push.  They got my room ready and I asked both my Mom and Andrea to stay with me while I pushed.  My Doctor showed up and she told me that the baby was right there and to give her a big push at the next contraction.  One contraction and two pushes later and Elias Teodoro Urrutia entered the world at 7 pounds, 8 ounces and 19 1/2 inches long.  She has a full head of dark brown hair and the most beautiful gray eyes!!  He began breastfeeding right away and is doing great at it still!!  We were released from the hospital after 24 hours and  my husband was able to switch his flight and make it to Colorado the next day (July 14th).  We are so in love with our new addition!!  Zeke loves his little brother so much, he is always kissing him!!!

35 weeks!

Big Belly!
35 weeks!!  I can't believe that I am going to be a mother to another baby boy in just 5 short weeks!  I am looking forward to the moment I get to hold my new baby boy.  His movements have slowed down dramatically and it drives me crazy because feeling him move is the one thing that puts me at ease.  I know he is OK, I had a DR appointment on Thursday and his heartbeat and my blood pressure are fine.  I can't believe after this appointment I start going to the doctor every week.  I am getting nervous about delivery again, my last delivery was pretty hard.  I am hoping this one goes a lot quicker and smoother!  My hubby will finally be in Colorado with me in less than 5 weeks!  I cannot wait to see him, I have missed him so much!!  Zeke and I went to the Denver Zoo with some friends yesterday.  Even though it was super hot outside, we had a blast looking at all of the animals!

32 Weeks

32 Weeks
I have made it to 32 weeks!  Time is flying by and dragging on all at the same time.  Zeke and I are finally in Colorado and missing Papi more and more everyday.  I booked my husband's flight out here for July 29th (Yikes, 4 days before due date) so I am hoping this little man baking in me decides to stay put until then!  I can't wait to see my husband and meet our new little addition!  Zeke misses his Papi, but he is having a blast here in Colorado.  My brothers are keeping him entertained and he is so happy to be with his Nana.  We have been visiting my mother-in-law a few times a week as well and Zeke loves all of the time he gets to spend with his Aunts.  55 days until baby is here and 51 days until I get my husband here with me!

Easter Weekend

We had such a fun weekend!!  Saturday morning we woke up nice and early to have a community egg hunt for the kids.  Afterward we drove over to Fort B for another egg hunt.  Saturday night I took Sergio out for dinner since his birthday is this week!!  My hubby will be 28 years old!  Easter Sunday was a lot of fun.  We were invited over to our neighbors house to have a Easter Egg Hunt with eggs full of confetti you can smash on each others heads which was a lot of fun!!  Confetti everywhere!!  Then for Easter dinner we went and ate On The Border since I have no desire what so ever to cook!  This is our last weekend together :-(  Zeke and I fly to Denver next Friday so I am happy our last weekend together until the baby is born was a fun one!

25 Weeks

4/17/11

The baby is getting more and more active.  I feel him the most every night before I fall asleep and he is the first thing I feel in the morning.  Ezekiel loves the feel him kick.  The first time he felt the baby move he looked at me with the biggest eyes as if to say "What the heck was that!!!"  I love that he loves to be involved with all of the baby stuff and he cannot wait to hold his baby brother.  My hopes are that they will be very close growing up although they will be 4 years apart in age.  On Sunday my girlfriends in housing threw me a surprise baby shower.  It was the sweetest thing anyone has ever done for me.  We came home from shopping all day and as soon as I opened the door I was greeted by 6 lovely ladies screaming SURPRISE!!!  I almost peed my pants I was so shocked!!  Sergio had been acting strange the whole day but I never suspected this!  It was so sweet for him to plan this with my two good friends Susie and Sallie.  My house was filled with food, decorations, flowers and gifts.  I got some awesome baby gifts that included 2 baby blankets that Sallie made, some adorable baby clothes and lots of baby accessories!  I cannot wait until baby "E" is here so I can wrap him in his blanket.
